Nairobi - Lewa Conservancy by Plane

(1 hour 30 minutes)


Following a delightful morning and breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Lewa Downs Conservancy. The flight departs at 10:20 AM and arrives at 11:20 AM, lasting approximately one hour. Upon landing, you'll be greeted and taken to Lewa Houses, enjoying game viewing along the way, before checking in for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive until sunset.

Included in your stay at Lewa Conservancy are accommodations at your camp or lodge, an overnight stay within the conservancy, and meals consisting of lunch and dinner. Additionally, you'll have access to drinking water and selected alcoholic beverages.

Sprawling over the rolling plains north of Mt Kenya, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a prolific wildlife conservancy that is popular with celebrities, conservationists, writers and photographers

Visitors to Lewa are privy to some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing that Kenya has to offer: lion, leopard and jackal thrive on the rich diversity of prey that inhabits the area. The Wildlife Conservancy is home to the largest concentration of Grevy’s zebra in the world, and its range of habitats attracts diverse birdlife and hosts over 200 Black and White rhino.

Featuring large tented bedrooms with verandahs and full en-suite bathrooms, Lewa Safari camp offers authentic comfort for its visitors; cozy log fires in the sitting room are perfect for relaxing after a day in the Conservancy. This unique and exclusive retreat offers privileged access to 65,000 acres of private protected wilderness.

Underpinning the glamorous magnetism of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a serious mission: a pioneering and pragmatic approach to conservation, founded in the 1970’s, that has developed into a thriving and globally recognised rhino conservation habitat.

Lewa Safari Camp is the only tourist facility within the Conservancy that is owned by the Conservancy. Profits and conservancy fees generated by the camp are reinvested directly into the conservation and community efforts of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

Lewa Wilderness

Situated near the base of Mt. Kenya, which is Africa’s second tallest mountain, Lewa Wilderness is one of Kenya’s oldest and most private safari ventures.

The Craig family has passed down the lodge from one generation to the next. In addition, they passed down a distinct passion for wildlife, conservation and tourism. They proudly continue to run Lewa Wilderness Lodge and Walking Wild Camel Safaris. So this place is as much a home as it is a truly unique and personal safari experience.

By staying at Lewa Wilderness, guests are automatically supporting the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and all of the conservation and community development efforts. The lodge has nine exclusive rooms. Rooms are located in six thatched cottages tucked into the hillside overlooking Lewa’s Eastern Marania Valley, and three thatched garden cottages set in the beautiful green lawns. Each cottage is tastefully decorated with some of the Craig’s own antique and handmade furniture. Therefore giving each room a rustic charm and the character of a ranch homestead.

Sirikoi Lodge

Sirikoi Lodge resembles an eco-chic African home and while it offers a sure sense luxury and high level of service, it manages to be welcoming, comfortable and unpretentious.

The main lodge and dining deck, four luxury tents, Sirikoi Cottage and private Sirikoi House are perfectly positioned along the spring fed Sirikoi stream, from which the lodge derives its name. All buildings have a view of the lawns leading out on to the Sirikoi wetland and watering hole.

Each accommodation has a private outside deck to make the most of armchair game viewing, All the rooms are spacious and tastefully designed, with unique decor touches, a sitting area, big Victorian bathtubs, rain-showers and a fireplace.

Full Day in Lewa Conservancy

Embark on an early morning game drive, followed by a return to the camp for a hearty breakfast. Afterward, continue with a half-day game drive, exploring the diverse wildlife and the expansive Ngare Ndare forest within Lewa Conservancy. This conservation area is renowned for its exceptional efforts in offering alternative safari activities and its successful preservation of the endangered black rhino. As a sustainable tourism model, Lewa Downs has achieved remarkable success in the global conservation arena.

During your game drives, you have the chance to encounter the iconic Big 5, including elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. Lewa Conservancy is also home to the largest population of Grevy's zebras and eastern black rhinoceros in the world. As the sun sets, night brings opportunities to spot elusive creatures like leopards, bush babies, foxes, aardvarks, and caracals.

In the afternoon, engage in a nature walk, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the conservancy, before returning to the camp to relax and enjoy the amenities.

Lewa Conservancy - Masai Mara National Reserve by Plane

(1 hour 25 minutes)

Begin your day with an exhilarating early morning game drive, and then return to the hotel for a scrumptious breakfast. Following breakfast, it's time to transfer to Lewa Airstrip for your scheduled morning flight to Masai Mara. The flight duration is approximately one hour and 25 minutes. Upon landing, your guide will be there to pick you up, and you'll enjoy a game drive en-route to your camp. After checking in, savor a delicious lunch and take some time to relax. In the afternoon, set out on another thrilling game drive, exploring the wonders of Masai Mara until the sun sets.

For guests coming from the Mombasa Coast, a direct flight to our luxury tented camp takes just 2 hours, allowing for effortless access to this remarkable destination.

(45 minutes - 1 hour)

Start your day with an early morning game drive, followed by a full buffet breakfast at the camp. Enjoy some morning rest before transferring to the airstrip for an afternoon flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be picked up at Wilson Airport and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel.

This is the last day of the safari, and there is no accommodation included. You'll be provided with breakfast and lunch, while dinner is not included. During your trip, you can enjoy drinking water and selected alcoholic drinks.
