ITINERARY

Tour Plan

The Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park itinerary starts with an early morning pickup at your Nairobi hotel, Nairobi Residence, or Nairobi Airport at 5:00 am. You will travel in a private 4x4 Safari Jeep, offering comfort and flexibility throughout the journey. As you depart Nairobi, you'll enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley during the approximately 2.5 to 3-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Upon arrival at the park, your safari guide will take you on a 3-hour game drive, delving deep into the park's diverse landscapes and wildlife-rich areas. Throughout the game drive, your guide will provide informative commentary, enhancing your understanding and appreciation of the park's flora and fauna.

Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned for its birdwatching opportunities, with the forest and grassland areas attracting a wide variety of bird species. In addition to the abundant birdlife, the park is home to white rhinos, waterbucks, hippos, and even a small population of rare tree-climbing lions. You'll have the chance to spot these animals as you explore the park.

For lunch, you'll take a break at the Lake Nakuru Lodge restaurant. If you prefer, you can arrange for a picnic lunch in the park with advance notice. After lunch, you'll continue your game drive in the park, as different animals emerge for feeding and activity during the afternoon hours.

At 2:00 pm, you'll leave Lake Nakuru and proceed to Lake Naivasha, the highest-elevation lake in the Great Rift Valley. There, you'll embark on a 1-hour boat ride, offering unobstructed views of the lake. The boat ride includes stops to observe the diverse bird population of Lake Naivasha, watch eagles feeding, and witness the wallowing hippos along the grassy shoreline.

Finally, you'll visit Crescent Island, a sanctuary known for its resident wildlife. Accompanied by knowledgeable naturalists, you'll embark on a walking safari around the sanctuary. During the walking safari, you may have the opportunity to spot giraffes, zebras, antelopes, waterbucks, and more.

After the walking safari, you'll return to the shore and begin the journey back to Nairobi. The tour will conclude at approximately 6:00 pm, when you'll be dropped off at your Nairobi Hotel, Nairobi Residence, or Nairobi Airport, marking the end of a fulfilling day exploring Lake Nakuru National Park and its surroundings.
