Early Morning Departure from Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Start your day early in Mombasa as your driver picks you up for an exciting safari adventure. Embark on a scenic journey along the Mombasa to Nairobi road, allowing you to soak in the picturesque Kenyan countryside with its charming farms and villages.

As you arrive at the Bachuma Gate of Tsavo East National Park, the wildlife encounters begin right away. Keep your eyes peeled for magnificent creatures such as elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, buffalos, and many more as you make your way to your camp or lodge for a refreshing lunch.

After satisfying your appetite, set out on an afternoon game drive across the savanna, searching for the majestic animals that roam through Tsavo East. During the drive, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Aruba Dam, a popular spot for wildlife viewing, especially during the dry season.

As the day comes to a close, return to your chosen accommodation for a delicious dinner. Rest up and prepare for the adventures that await you on the following day. This day of your Kenyan safari includes:

Ashnil Aruba Lodge

Ashnil Aruba Lodge lies in the heart of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya. The Lodge features 46 rooms and 6 tents. Its location is superb, just a couple of hours from the coast of Mombasa, 5 hours leisurely drive from Nairobi and is located on the banks of Aruba Dam which was built in 1952 as a sport fishing recreational point in the park. Several watering holes nearby attract wildlife and spotting animals is easy because the park lies flat with savannah grassland.

Voi Wildlife Lodge

Officially opened in 2003, the lodge is situated on a 25-acre site on the boundary of Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest game parks with spectacular views of nearby volcanic outcrops, such as the Kasigau, Sagalla and Mwakingali Hills. Designed to blend unassumingly into the surrounding environment, the lodge boasts a natural waterhole often attracting big game, including elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo as well as a rich variety of birdlife.

Witness the breathtaking beauty of the sunrise casting its golden light over the vast grasslands, accompanied by the melodic symphony of the dawn chorus. Experience the enchanting transformation of the plains as nature awakens to a new day. After the exhilarating drive, return to your camp or lodge for a hearty breakfast.

Next, it's time to venture to Tsavo West, the sister park of Tsavo East. These two parks form part of a vast reserve, each with its unique characteristics and features. As you travel between the parks, you'll notice subtle changes in vegetation, adding to the diversity of your safari experience. Upon reaching your accommodation in Tsavo West, enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Tsavo West is home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a crucial conservation area dedicated to protecting and increasing the population of black rhinos, which are critically endangered. During your safari, you'll have the opportunity to visit the sanctuary and learn about their vital conservation efforts.

After an eventful day of wildlife encounters and education, return to your accommodation for a well-deserved dinner and relaxation in the evening. The second day of your Kenyan safari includes:

Ngulia Safari Lodge, built in 1969, is located in Tsavo West National Park which a home to a big host of wild animals.

It can be accessed from Nairobi (260 km away), through Mtito Andei Gate or from Mombasa (250km away) through Tsavo River Gate. The Lodge is perched on the Ndawe Escarpment just below Ngulia Hills, overlooking the Rhino Sanctuary surrounded by Scenic Hills.

Amboseli Sentrim Lodge is located right next to Kimana gate at the border of the home of Elephants Amboseli National Park.

It is a luxurious tented lodge with 60 modern tents with a private view of Mt. Kilimanjaro with very latest in luxury camping with soft beds, an ensuite bathroom with a steaming hot shower, a washbasin and flush toilets.
